SALT’s entry into Mumbai is being marked with the launch of its newest restaurant in Malad. The Bengaluru-origin brand is being introduced to the city after its presence has been built across Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune. The opening is being positioned as an important step in the brand’s wider expansion journey.

The Malad outlet is being presented as a contemporary Indian dining destination. Traditional Indian flavours are being reinterpreted through modern culinary techniques, while regional influences are being retained across the menu. The restaurant experience is also being shaped around food, ambience, storytelling and community.

A wide menu has been curated for the Mumbai outlet. Vegetarian dishes such as Avocado Tokri Chaat, Paneer Bhurji Maska Pav, Subz Quinoa Tikki and Thecha Broccoli are being offered. Non-vegetarian selections include Parda Prawns, Galouti Kebab, Charcoal Chicken Tikka and Kolhapuri Mutton Cookerwala.

The dessert section is being used to reinterpret familiar Indian sweets. Saffroni Kulfi and Rasmalai are being served alongside Gulab Jamun Brûlée and Filter Coffee Brûlée. The latter is being inspired by India’s regional coffee culture.

Chef Balaji Balachander, Partner at SALT, said, “Mumbai marks an exciting chapter.” He added that the restaurant is intended to become a neighbourhood destination where food, culture, music and community are brought together.

The launch is being seen as another milestone for SALT as the brand continues to expand into new cities. Through its curated menu, contemporary approach and focus on hospitality, the restaurant is expected to strengthen its position in India’s modern dining space.
