Chaitanya is expanding its Malvani dining presence with a new outlet in Thane, where a 90-seater restaurant is being introduced across the ground and first floor. The development is being positioned as the brand’s entry into a growing suburban dining market. The expansion is being linked to continued consumer demand for regional Indian food in urban and suburban locations.

The new restaurant has been designed to serve family diners, groups and casual guests through a mid-sized dining format. The outlet’s two-level structure has been planned to support comfort as well as operational flexibility. The format is being used to allow guests to spend more time at the restaurant while maintaining service efficiency.

The brand’s Malvani identity is being retained through its existing menu strategy and sourcing model. Chaitanya has stated that ingredients such as coconut, kokum, tamarind and seafood will continue to be sourced from Malvan. This supply chain is being used to support consistency in flavour and strengthen the restaurant’s regional differentiation.

The core menu at the Thane outlet is being built around Chaitanya’s established dishes. Items such as Surmai Fry, Bombil Fry, Fried Prawns, Chicken Sukka and Mutton Masala are being retained as part of the offering. The fish curry, rice and solkadhi combination is also being continued, along with thali formats focused on portion size and value.

The Thane outlet is also being expanded with a tandoor section. Dishes such as Pomfret Tandoor, Roasted Kaleji and Tandoor Crab are being added to the menu. The additions are being introduced without changing the brand’s core positioning around Malvani cuisine.

Surekha Walke, Founder of Chaitanya, said, “We have not changed our taste, and we never will.” The statement indicates that the expansion is being planned around continuity rather than repositioning. The new outlet is being presented as a more comfortable space for guests while preserving the brand’s familiar food experience.

The move shows how established regional restaurant brands are entering adjacent suburban markets while retaining their original identity.
