Cahoots, a restaurant and cocktail lounge, has been opened with the intention of merging gastronomy with storytelling. Although designed to host up to 250 patrons within a sprawling 7,500-square-foot setting, the space has been praised for maintaining an unexpected sense of intimacy.
The establishment has been defined not only by its ambiance but also by its distinctive beverage program. A collection of 12 signature cocktails, named the Classified Cocktail Collection, has been crafted by the award-winning mixologist Yangdup Lama. Local ingredients and cultural nuances have been woven into each drink, resulting in beverages that reflect Bangalore’s hidden layers and culinary traditions.
Inspiration for the collection has been drawn from the venue’s conceptual foundation. A sense of secrecy and quiet rebellion has been embraced, with influences said to come from the city’s alleys, street food culture, and collective memory. Lama has expressed that the aim was to capture Bangalore’s soul in every sip.
While the cocktails have drawn attention, the food has been curated to complete the experience. The menu has been designed by Chef Vikram Udaygiri and has been described as a modern reimagining of Bangalore’s classic dishes. Forgotten favorites have been revived with a contemporary twist, offering both comfort and surprise to diners.
The entire experience has been envisioned by founders Amogha Varsha and Suresh Shetty, who have articulated a desire to do more than serve food. An emotional connection to the city’s spirit has been prioritized, with each element of Cahoots crafted to resonate with those who have grown up in Bangalore as well as those discovering it for the first time.
