A new chapter in inclusive hospitality has been marked with the standalone debut of Ishaara on Church Street, Bengaluru. The launch has been positioned not merely as an expansion, but as a reaffirmation of the brand’s purpose-driven philosophy, where hospitality is shaped as much by human connection as by food.

At the core of the dining experience, inclusion has been placed front and centre. The restaurant has been helmed by a team of hearing and speech-impaired service professionals, with communication being facilitated through gestures, expressions, and presence. This approach has been described as integral to the brand’s identity rather than an added feature, allowing guests to experience hospitality through empathy and awareness.

The philosophy behind the brand name, which translates to “gesture,” has been carried through every aspect of the space. Interaction has been intentionally designed to move beyond spoken language, encouraging guests to engage more consciously with those around them. This emphasis on connection has been reinforced as a defining element of the Ishaara experience.

From a leadership standpoint, the Bengaluru opening has been described as the beginning of a new phase for the brand. According to Prashant Issar, Managing Director of Bellona Hospitality, the expansion has been framed as an evolution rooted in emotion, kindness, and shared human moments, rather than growth alone.

The restaurant’s interiors have been thoughtfully crafted to reflect this ethos. Designed by Mumbai-based Minnie Bhatt Design, the 3,000 sq. ft. indoor–outdoor space has been shaped using concrete, warm wood, brass, faux leather, and flowing greenery. A 700 sq. ft. verandah with striking ceiling height has been designed to transition seamlessly from a bright daytime setting to a relaxed evening bar, allowing the space to adapt organically over time.

Through its Bengaluru debut, Ishaara has been positioned as more than a dining destination. It has been presented as a space where purpose, design, and inclusion intersect, reinforcing the idea that meaningful hospitality can be created when people, rather than words, are placed at the heart of the experience.
