The Deli has expanded into Mumbai with the launch of its first city outlet in Bandra’s Pali Hill, marking its transition from a leisure-destination café in Alibaug to an urban, all-day dining format. The move reflects a broader industry trend where established café brands are entering high-density neighbourhoods with flexible consumption models designed for repeat visits.
The 48-seater café has been designed to accommodate both quick visits and extended dining occasions, supported by a layout that includes a private room for varied usage. Interiors have been developed using skylights, blue-and-white tones, and dark wood accents to create a naturally lit, open environment aligned with evolving urban café preferences.
A dedicated pet menu has been introduced, reinforcing the growing importance of pet-friendly positioning in metro café formats. The Deli has also incorporated a retail extension through “The Pantry,” offering in-house products such as sourdough, Hokkaido breads, English butter cookies, and cranberry granola, in line with industry strategies focused on expanding takeaway and packaged offerings.
The menu has been structured for all-day consumption, featuring breakfast dishes such as avocado toast, Turkish eggs, hot cakes, kheema pao, and eggs Benedict, alongside later offerings including smoked salmon bowls, chargrilled miso cabbage, lobster linguine, Tom Yum spaghetti, and kimchi cheese melt sandwiches. The beverage programme is centred on coffee, supported by matcha, cold brews, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, and non-alcoholic drinks.
With its entry into Bandra, The Deli is positioned within one of Mumbai’s most competitive café markets, aligning its format with key trends such as all-day dining, integrated retail, and experience-led consumption.
