Bangalore’s culinary map has been further enriched with the opening of a new outlet by Hunaaan, a well-known Chinese and pan-Asian restaurant. Located in the vibrant locality of Indiranagar, the new branch has been launched as part of the brand’s next growth phase, following 18 years of continuous operations in the city.

The restaurant, originally founded in 2008, had garnered widespread popularity after the success of its BEL Road outlet, which had later emerged as its flagship location. Despite setbacks experienced during the pandemic, the brand has been revived with a renewed identity and vision. A refreshed look and a modernised menu have been introduced, while the essence of its culinary offerings has been retained.

The menu at the new outlet has been expanded to accommodate contemporary preferences. Health-conscious items and trending Asian flavours have been included, such as the Signature Hunan Salad with creamy miso, Asian Cold Silken Tofu Salad, and soups like Miso and Crabmeat. Diners are now offered a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dim sum platters, sushi options including sashimi and uramaki rolls, and Korean-style kimbap in various preparations such as cheese, tuna, chicken, and pork.

Small plates like Hunaaan Baby Potato, Thai Lemon Basil Tofu, and Singapore Soft Shell Chilli Crab have been added alongside mains such as General Tao’s Chicken, Tianjin Lamb, and Vegetable Dumplings in Hot Garlic Sauce. These have been accompanied by a range of non-alcoholic beverages. The culinary team has ensured that consistency in recipe standards and ingredient quality has been maintained.

A conscious departure from traditional Chinese decor has been undertaken at the Indiranagar outlet. A 40-seater layout has been designed using pinewood, grey limestone, and poplin fabric screens that draw inspiration from rice paper, while avoiding the overuse of conventional red lanterns and dim lighting. The entrance leads into a sensorial space, where aromas from a live cooking station mingle with minimalist Asian aesthetics.

With this new location, Hunaaan’s presence in Bangalore’s dining scene has been further cemented. The brand is expected to continue appealing to loyal customers while engaging a younger and more experimental audience.
