Dubai-based Japanese restaurant Bocasu has expanded beyond hospitality and into entertainment with the launch of its own scripted comedy-drama series, BocaShow, inspired by the real-life journey of building the restaurant.
The series stars Bocasu’s own team members, including Chef Yu Hasegawa and operations manager Izza, who portray themselves on screen while recreating the challenges, setbacks, and experiences that shaped the restaurant’s growth. The production aims to offer viewers an authentic behind-the-scenes look at the realities of launching and running a restaurant.
The first season also features appearances by Alistair Overeem and Hadi Omar Al Hussaini, adding a unique crossover between hospitality and combat sports.
Bocasu celebrated the launch with an exclusive private screening event, where guests were also introduced to the restaurant’s original song as part of the evening’s programme.
Building on the project’s debut, the restaurant has revealed plans to develop its own anime series alongside a second season of BocaShow, further extending its storytelling ambitions beyond food and dining.
Located in Dubai, Bocasu is known for its contemporary approach to Japanese cuisine, blending traditional flavours with modern culinary techniques. The restaurant has built a reputation for creating immersive dining experiences that combine food, culture, and entertainment, with BocaShow representing its latest effort to engage audiences beyond the restaurant setting.
The series is currently available to watch on YouTube.
