Simba Beer is marking its 10th year in India, with the milestone being positioned around its role in shaping the country’s craft beer segment. The brand is being recognised for introducing flavour-led brewing styles and building a differentiated identity in a market historically dominated by standard lagers. Recognition has also been received at the World Beer Awards 2025, where two of its products were honoured in the India Country Winners – Taste Category.

The brand’s global recognition is being highlighted as a validation of its brewing standards. At the World Beer Awards 2025, Simba Wit has been awarded Silver in the Wheat Beer Belgian Style Witbier category, while Simba Stout has received Bronze in the Stout and Porter category, including Dry and Irish styles. These awards have been presented as evidence of the brand’s continued focus on quality and consistency in production.

The evolution of Simba Beer has been shaped by its early entry into India’s craft beer landscape. It has been noted that the brand introduced consumers to more expressive beer formats at a time when product options were largely limited. A bottled stout was also introduced early in its journey, which expanded consumer exposure to darker and more complex beer styles.

The company’s cultural positioning has been strengthened through proprietary platforms. Initiatives such as Simba Uproar, First Time with Simba, Simba Garage and Simba Wagwan have been developed to build community engagement and embed the brand within contemporary youth culture. These efforts have been described as central to maintaining relevance beyond product innovation.

Expansion into the wider alco-bev segment has also been undertaken. The company has introduced ZigZag Vodka as part of its premium portfolio, signalling a broader ambition to influence modern drinking preferences in India.

Ishwaraj Singh Bhatia, Co-founder of Simba Beer and ZigZag Vodka, stated that the 10-year milestone reflects the brand’s founding belief in evolving consumer preferences. He said, “Indian consumers were ready for more character and variety in beer.” He further noted that recognition at the World Beer Awards reinforces the company’s commitment to quality, while future growth will be driven by portfolio expansion and measured market presence.

The next phase of Simba Beer’s journey is expected to focus on scale and portfolio development. Continued emphasis is being placed on expanding distribution, strengthening product offerings and maintaining relevance within India’s evolving craft beer ecosystem.
