The Leela Hyderabad is set to host Megu, a two-day Modern Japanese culinary pop-up led by Chef Shubham Thakur, on 8 and 9 May 2026. The experience will be presented under Raen – The Chef’s Studio and will focus on seasonal ingredients, refined cooking techniques and curated tasting menus.
The pop-up has been designed as an immersive dining journey rather than a regular meal. Guests will be able to choose from 3-course, 5-course and 7-course menus, available in both vegetarian and non-vegetarian formats. Each menu will be paired with beverages selected to complement the flavours of the dishes.
The menu will highlight a balance of flavour, texture and presentation. Dishes such as Avocado Tartar with citrus-wasabi soy, Miso Glazed Eggplant, Grilled Chilean Seabass with pepper soy and edamame purée, and Lamb Chops with garlic soy and smoked eggplant mash will form part of the experience. Desserts such as Yuzu Lemon Sable and Vegan Chocolate Delice will complete the meal.
The beverage programme will include signature cocktails such as Yuzu Picante and Tokyo Boulevardier, along with non-alcoholic options such as Zen Garden Thyme. According to the hotel, the drinks have been designed to reflect the same sense of balance and harmony as the food.
Rajesh Gopalakrishnan, General Manager of The Leela Hyderabad, said Megu reflects the hotel’s focus on creating experiences that go beyond dining. He noted that every element, from flavour to presentation, has been planned to engage the senses and leave a lasting impression.
The limited-time pop-up is expected to appeal to Hyderabad’s culinary enthusiasts who are looking for a premium and thoughtfully curated Japanese dining experience.
