A new category in India’s functional beverage market is being introduced with the launch of Protein Water by Not Rocket Science, combining whey protein isolate with a full electrolyte blend in a single ready-to-drink format. The product is being launched in Lemon Lime, Mango Orange and Mixed Berry flavours and has been priced at ₹199 for a 500ml bottle. Availability has been confirmed across Amazon, JioMart, Swiggy, Blinkit and Zepto.
The product has been positioned by the company as a solution that combines hydration and protein in one beverage. Each bottle contains 22 grams of 100 percent whey protein isolate along with up to 1300mg of electrolytes including potassium, magnesium, sodium and chloride. The formulation also includes 5 grams of branched-chain amino acids per serving. According to the company, the beverage has been designed to remain light, clear and easy to consume during activities such as running, gym sessions, cycling and trekking.
A clean-label formulation has been highlighted as part of the launch. Not Rocket Science has stated that the drink contains zero sugar, zero fat, no artificial flavours and no preservatives. The beverage is naturally sweetened with erythritol and stevia and is packaged in recyclable 500ml PET bottles. Lemon Lime delivers 1300mg electrolytes at 115 kcal per serve, Mango Orange offers 1300mg electrolytes at 107 kcal, while Mixed Berry provides 1200mg electrolytes at 110 kcal.
Arjun Patel, Founder of Not Rocket Science, said the functional beverage market had traditionally separated hydration and protein because combining both without compromise was difficult. He stated that whey protein isolate had enabled the brand to create a fast-absorbing and lighter protein base suitable for a clear beverage format.
Founded in 2023, Not Rocket Science focuses on ready-to-drink functional nutrition products designed around performance, digestibility and ingredient transparency. With Protein Water, the company is introducing a combined hydration-and-protein format aimed at India’s growing active lifestyle consumer segment.
